Candy Cane Embellished Wedding Cake : perfect for Holiday Weddings

If you are looking for a super creative and colorful wedding cake for holiday weddings, this Peppermint Candy Cane and White Chocolate Swirl Cake from Raspberri Cupcakes would definitely be the winner. And, if you're curious about the "swirl" part, it's actually marbled inside for an unexpected surprise. I'm now off for a few days to kick-off the holiday week with my mom today to celebrate her birthday and then finish getting everything ready for Thursday {and our Holiday pretties for church on Wednesday}. Wishing all of my readers a wonderful holiday with family and friends. See you back here very soon . . .

Canadian Lovebirds in the Snow : Winter Themed "After the Wedding" Session

This "wreck" the dress session, photographed by Caroline Ross Photography, is definitely not the typical kind you see. It's also the perfect wedding session to end with before the holidays. Melanie and Brandon were married over the summer and decided to don some of their wedding attire with winter accessories for a fun play date in the snow. On the couple's first date, their waitress had written "Good Night Lovebirds" on their receipt. This turned into one of their wedding themes and their lovebirds cake topper was converted into a Christmas tree ornament {which you will see in this photo session}. There is so much to love about this shoot that took place at the Cedar Green Golf Club - candy cane striped finger nails, snow angels, hot chocolate - it's the perfect "lovebird" winter {holiday} shoot

Winter Wedding Photo Session : Playing in the Snow | photographed by Caroline Ross Photography

Wishing everyone of my readers that's celebrating the Christmas holiday a wonderful time with family and friends.

I was originally planning to pop in on Thursday and Friday with a few winter themed inspiration boards, but have decided to take a break until Monday when I will share a New Year's inspired post. I am in desperate need of some much needed down time with my family and to refresh myself so I can be ready to bring you a brand new year of inspiration and wedding goodies. I'm now signing off to start prepping the Christmas dinner, crafting a few fun goodies for the table decor and get everything ready for a fun holiday break with my loved ones.

For those that are wondering, Melanie's wedding dress is by Maggie Sottero. She fell in love with it, but soon realized it was discontinued. She proceeded to call over 50 shops in Ontario, Quebec and the US . . . finally finding a dress boutique in Renfrew, Ontario that had her "dream" wedding dress.

Photo Shoot : Sass the Date for a Merry Little Christmas Wedding

In keeping with today's earlier photo shoot - the holidays are staying alive on my blog for one more day :) Right now I have a beautiful Merry Little Christmas Wedding photo shoot that Marisa of Sassy Mouth Photography in CT put together. Marisa even designed the invitation {don't you love it?}

Marisa used some of her own Christmas items, some new things, and her sister's adorable little girls. Marisa's brother's girlfriend modeled as a bride in her own mom's wedding dress from 30 years ago. I'm in love with this dress - it's the most perfect winter wedding dress and even more perfect for a holiday one.

The gorgeous florals were provided by HGK DESIGNS and the hair and makeup was from Kayle from Salon Alexander in New Britain.

This photo shoot is brimming with inspiration for the holidays - and even some of the ideas can be implemented for Valentine's Day. Thank you so much Marisa for sharing this stunning shoot with my readers today. To see more from Marisa - please visit the Sassy Mouth Photography Blog.

A Candy Cane Striped Holiday Wedding Inspiration Board

When the holidays come around, I love putting together fun inspiration boards. Now, you might not want to have this many stripes at your event - but I just couldn't resist showing you all the possibilities for incorporating stripes into a holiday wedding. Even a bridal shower would be perfect for this theme.

I'm now signing off until Monday when I'm back with a look at what's hot in weddings for 2011. Please be sure to also visit the Holiday Weddings section in case you might have missed any of the earlier posts - there's some great ideas for last minute party decor here. Wishing all of my readers a blessed holiday filled with love and wonderful times with family and friends.
